Do you want to take a picnic, or simply have a relaxing outdoor experience? Chibila camp is best for you. Conveniently located (350 Km from Lusaka) on the beautiful shoreline of Lake Itezhi-tezhi, Chibila offers you affordable and unique out door experience. Here, you will explore the Kafue National Park, go out fishing, swim at the Longolo hot spring, learn about historic ruins of Old Nkala Mission and more! The camp is only 6 km from the South Gate of Kafue National Park, with immediate access to the dry forest, riverine loops, and plains of the Ngoma area. The camp can accommodate up to twelve people and offers self catering.

Chibila camp blends into a natural environment of wooded granite hills, with granite boulders framing spectacular panoramic views over the lake. Each chalet has four single beds, an en-suite shower and toilet facilities, and a personal verandah. An adjoining dining and lounge area are perfect for relaxing and taking in the view. The name Chibila is from the local language (Tonga) to mean rock hyrax. The camp is open all year round. Please get in touch with us for more details and bookings.

Kafwala Camp is a 12-bed self-catering camp built on the banks of the beautiful Kafue River, about 43km above the Hook Bridge (five hours from Lusaka), in the northern sector of the Kafue National Park. The site, opposite gentle rapids and lush riverine islands, is one of the most picturesque in Zambia. Around the camp the birdlife is abundant, while the north and south loop roads afford interesting game viewing. A pleasant but full day return trip further north gives access to the splendid Busanga Plains. Fishing is also possible and boats can be launched at a site close to the camp. More information at

The camp is open from June to the end of October
